What’s Best for You?

Before you can truly answer this question it’s important to honestly answer where you are currently. Take a moment and think about some of the things we have discussed like experience, position, space, or maybe even an old meditation log can be reviewed if you have one. Don’t worry if you don’t, we are going to cover this in a later module.

The short answer is, you are going to have to get comfortable experimenting with different styles and intents to find what really hits home for you and what your practice is going to look like long term. More importantly is recognizing when it will need to change as you grow into your practice and require something different or “more”.

For the purposes of just getting started and this course, all of the meditations that you will be trying in this course will be a guided meditation as it’s a lot easier to follow along and let me guide you to what to do.

An important note to keep in the front of your mind as you’re going through the process is that many meditations teach you tools to use within your mind. These tools do not have to stay in a meditation to use them. As you learn them in that space and get good at them, you can bring them out and use them through your day and implement them should the need arise.

Let’s start with a very simple breathing exercise. In this short meditation I am going to take you through a short breathing exercise to help bring you back into center. This tool is a spring board into so many other areas but for now let’s just try the meditation together.
