I would have to say this is where meditation really gets fun and exciting.
Most people in the beginning have a preference to either the sensation side of things or the visual side of things. There is no “one answer”, nor is one better, just how you personally interpret the best and this too will change over time. Setting an intent that you want it to be one way or the other will not help you. Your brain is going to do what it does best and just deliver. Let go now of any expectation of changing it or wanting it to be like your friend who sees things. This is the time to get to know yourself and become comfortable with it. The first time it happens, it can sit you straight up in your bed and it’s okay if that happens, just enjoy the moment and if you can, return to your meditation. If you can’t because you can’t settle back down that too is okay, again take the time to enjoy the moment and pick it up again the next day.
Once you get over the shock of feeling or seeing something you will start to see patterns develop and a language being formed. Signs and signals are often used to help you along this journey. They could be helping you slow down or even there to make you feel safe and protected. Be careful about letting your mind run wild in fear in these moments. You want to try to avoid creating a negative experience based out of fear because remember it will be your intent that is guiding what is happening so if you force your own fear as your intent, you will create a whole new experience. I will remind you that you are perfectly safe if you are entering into this with good intentions and holding a high respect for the process and yourself. Nothing else is needed.
Don’t forget to Log the experience in your log!!!
At this point, you have learned and studied the course material and you have started a new habit and don’t forget the breathing exercise that you have been practicing. Now we need the experience. I would like you to pause this course and focus on doing that meditation in the previous lessons every day for a week. Once that’s done you can open up the next module and we will give you part two.
