More Bridges
The list of mindfulness bridging is quite large and once you understand the concept of why we use bridges in those moments you’re only limited by your imagination of what you can do within your life mindfully. Even simple chores around your house, driving to work, gardening, walking, the list is endless.
The final example I want to highlight is one that I think I have a lot of fun with personally. Listening to music mindfully. Most people listen to music for how they emotionally feel, and you tend to vibe with the type of music that suits how you feel. This can be very healing on its own, but it also can add into our own narrative; we listen to sad music when we’re sad because we want to feel even sadder. etc. etc. etc.
I want you to think of a handful of your favorite songs and the first time through just listen to it, the next time through I want you to listen only for the backup vocals if there’s vocals, the next time through I want you to listen for the individual instruments within the song, and keep playing around with this over and over listening to different things within the music even allowing to focus on the base instead of the melody or vice versa. Most importantly have some fun with this. You might be surprised what you might hear in a song that you thought you knew back to front, or you hear something different and it changes the meaning of the song. It can be eye-opening for many reasons but again it’s a bridge for you to use and explore.
