So!!!
So far, we have discussed what is mindfulness, what is autopilot, we’ve taken a different look and used different perspectives to analyze the story and we’ve started to look at a few bridges to help us practice some mindfulness exercises. At this point in time not only have you probably started to internalize some of the things that we’ve talked about but hopefully you’ve put them into practice and changed them to suit you.
I want to reaffirm this point that I made at the beginning: take everything that is in this course and change it to suit you. This course is not designed for you to memorize and regurgitate everything that is here. This course is designed to get you to think about how this information relates to you and gives you an avenue to start looking forward to. Whether it’s the jars, the coloring, the music, or something else I hope that you’re using and experimenting with these bridges often, discard what doesn’t work and change what does work. Be creative in the moment within your own mind on how you can make it truer for you. That is at the very center of mindfulness, after all you are learning how your mind works and the only thing that matters is your context that brought you to this day so give yourself space to realize that you’re going to inherently change anything you learn if it is going to work well for you. As we dive further into this mindfulness course, we’re going to get more detailed with the homework assignments and the instructions for you to try. Make sure you’re giving yourself time in between these modules to practice these tips and tools that you’re learning. If by chance you have read this entire course up until this point without putting into practice anything we have discussed so far, I urge you to stop and repeat the first part of the course and practice all of these tools to find which one suits you best.
