A Healing Session

Now we as a company will always default to placing our hands with the center of our palms over the person’s ears. In this position you can access the entire body, both on a physical level and on an energetic level. From time to time, you may be guided to be hands-on, directly to an injury or a trauma, where you would then move your hands off of their head, but as the whole we teach to be hands over the ears only, especially in the beginning. This is done this way because the connection between body and spirit is inside the brain. This usually becomes most comfortable for the Healer if the person is lying on a massage or treatment table or in a semi-sitting position leaning back with the Healer standing behind them, taking care that they are also in a comfortable position with perhaps something to rest their elbows on so they’re not straining against their own muscles in order to maintain that position. A little prep work often goes a long way before starting a healing session, not only setting up your space but also setting up aids to be more comfortable should you need to be there for longer than expected. We also ask that the person who is being healed to sit or lay down with their arms and legs uncrossed. This becomes very important when you’re working with somebody on an energetic level just to keep the energy flow through their body cleanly, so we don’t have one river crossing over top of another. This again is not a bad thing however it does create static, and you may feel a resistance that is not needed. More often than not Healers will use that feeling of a resistance, when the energy is being held back to when it is flowing freely as a signal to when they are done or that they need to keep going. Making sure we don’t create unnecessary points of resistance that may confuse the process later on is important.
At one point in time or another, somebody will usually ask me how long it should take, but this can have a lot of variables that change the answer, not only for different Healers but different things being healed. Things can be healed as fast as a split second versus 45 minutes to an hour. Understanding the variables helps you or arms you against them so you don’t feel thrown off by a new circumstance because it was different than the way it was before. Some of the most common ones we’ve just discussed regarding static within yourself are you being distracted, sidetracked or holding yourself in a state of stress or worry that what you’re going to do is effective. This will inherently slow you down, so if you feel that way or if you’re fighting through those thoughts in that moment, understand that first and foremost it’s okay. These thoughts are very normal and almost expected in the beginning, of course they are, this is new, wonderful and mind-blowing some days. There is an expectation there that your mind will drift, or you will worry or even need a break in the moment to regroup or reground yourself. As long as you understand that this is not only okay, but it is normal, and you also understand that this will just extend the session length the more distraction there is. Then you can look on this circumstance with a little bit more clarity and expectation that you might be there a little bit longer than normal. This can also happen from the person being healed if they are creating static or resistance within their own body, this too can slow down the flow of energy. Oftentimes, people that approach Healers or agree to be healed already have an innate sense of wanting that healing so that’s rarely an issue from an organic standpoint. This one particular issue only really comes up when the Healer keeps trying to force healing on people that do not want it, this often happens in the beginning when you’ve had your first few successes and suddenly you want to show everybody including the people that don’t want it. Again, this is a very normal process, however respecting someone’s free will and choice and not letting our own excitement get the better of us will definitely make an easier road ahead of you.

Something else that can lengthen a session would be somebody approaching you with a symptom that is louder than the problem. Sometimes the person is complaining, let’s say about a back pain and that’s all they can talk about, now you may get guided that it’s actually their hip or their knee or you may have to fix the back pain before the other problem can be seen. There are some other circumstances that can create some confusion in the middle of a session when the back pain was masking a separate pain. Sometimes if you’re not prepared for this circumstance, it can be difficult to answer the question, to say I came here to have my back fixed but now my knee hurts. The truth being that the knee has been hurting the entire time, but the back pain was so severe that it was masking the knee pain and they didn’t even have time to acknowledge the problem with the knee. Be wise to these circumstances as not only being normal medically, but they can also be proven when somebody has a bad knee or their alignment on their walking is out, it can often create other problems within their body. A great example of this is when somebody gets orthotics for the way that their foot falls within their shoe. This often will fix lower back pain that they’ve been struggling with their whole life, but it was the mechanics of how they walked and how that forced their pelvis to move and the strain on those muscles became their loudest problem not the actual problem. As a Healer, try to remember or recognize the difference between that sentence “the loudest problem versus the real problem” and understand that the human body is a wonderfully complex integrated set of systems and is rarely as simple as one thing.
