The Process
Let’s talk mechanics for a second, we’ve just spent the last 30 days going through some easy but difficult questions, exploring the way that you think about things and bringing up some ideas and some answers within yourself. I would assume it spawned a lot of creative and reflective thoughts within yourself. But now what?
Nobody can tell you what your process is going to be. I’m going to go over some generalities that tend to be in everybody’s framework on what actually happens in the self-journey. You were going to take and implement change to meet your own context and create your own process through this experience. The truth is you probably already have. But let’s talk about some fundamentals first.
Generally speaking, when we ask a difficult question, we answer out of ego first, then our higher thinking starts to pick it apart. It’s at this point where we start to question our egos response. This is where the process starts to get exciting, because we’re challenging what we’re holding up as a mask to the world. Ego is the one that’s going to answer first based on how we should answer or how you want to be seen as answering, but then something very cool happens. You start to search your imagination for different scenarios or how other people would answer this question or we even take a very direct approach looking at the validity of the first answer. This is what becomes a gateway to allow something different to exist inside of you.
Now I can’t tell you how you’re going to react or how you did react to all of those questions that you answered. I can guess that there are a few that are still on your mind today. You have every right to deny those answers and continue on with egos first response. Or you can start to explore the truth beneath the surface and find out what your most truthful answer to those questions are and build off of that. I’ll let you in on a little secret! The ones that stick with you are the first ones that you should explore. Believe it or not your interest will lead your self-journey. There is a reason that these questions are coming back to you and that’s because that is where your interest lies. That is the area where you want to know more, so don’t ignore it. Don’t deny it. Embrace it!
