Intro to 30 Days of Questions

Now we get to enter into the difficult part of this course! This is the part of a course where I’m going to ask you to slow down and only do these next 30 modules one day at a time. Each one of the modules is marked with the numerical day and they’re designed to get you to think about the answers to the question past just answering it. Most of these questions you will come up with an answer probably very quickly, I want you to write that answer down, but I also want you to chew up that question throughout the rest of your day and really see where that question can be molded or changed and see if your answer changes the more you think about it the more honest you become with it. Now I’ll give you an example: Day one’s question is “who am I?” Most people off the top of their head will come out with I am a wife, I am a husband, I am a father, I am a mother, I’m a sister, I am such and such job. Now of course you can come up with a very superficial answer quickly. Who are you behind that? Who is the person that is that mother or father or such and such job? Who are you when it comes to what your very nature is?

Take your time in deciding on what your answer is. Put in adequate time in sorting through all the different options. The more time you spend with this the more you are going to get out of it.

If you don’t already have it, I would suggest you use a separate notebook for this, where you can doodle, make a whole bunch of mistakes, cross some stuff out, write over top of it, whatever you feel is right. Use one page per question and feel free to make notes on the side of the page on what brought you to that answer because sometimes your notes will become more important to you than the answer itself. Feel free after this exercise is over to destroy or dispose of the book or if you choose to keep it in a safe place where you know that only you will be able to find it and compare to the answers that you would do next year or the year after. It would be interesting to see for yourself how your answers might change as you get to know yourself better.
