Cultures
I found it very interesting and as I started to dive into this, I researched intuition and how other cultures looked at it from around the world. I was very surprised to find out very quickly that most cultures around the world view intuition as relatively the same. The only real difference is how society accepts intuition as an explanation for some of this unexplained knowledge or some ability to know something. This gets even more complicated when you realize that it’s different layers in society that are either accepting or rejecting the idea of intuition and it’s those accepted or not accepted layers that are perceived to have value. For example, under the philosophical guidelines or if we called it the philosophical layer, intuition has a very high or very prevalent value as people are coming up with new ideas or new thoughts or looking into why something happened. The study of human behavior is also one that is very common to talk about intuition and it’s affecting role on people. Even amongst psychologists there seems to be a very clear divide on how intuition is viewed based on patient experience.
One of the largest commonalities that I found between all societies and all levels of importance is amongst artists or composers. There’s been more documented quotes all pertaining to some sort of statement that the music, the art, or the sculpture, whatever it may be, had just came to them. For the naysayer it’s a statement that easily passes off as random or just part of their process.
Then again, the analysis is always in the receiver and if somebody’s looking for coincidence, I’m sure they will find coincidence. If somebody is looking for proof, they will find proof! I think the mistake a lot of people make is thinking that it is based on the words they say out loud rather than how they feel inside.
What does your intuition say about that?
How does it feel behind the words that are written here on this page?
These are two questions I want you to start asking yourself about regularly, not only through this course but just as things unfold in front of you on a day-to-day basis. Exercise that part of yourself that is willing to look within.
